Privacy Policy

Fairied ("we," "us") helps families coordinate driving by reading their calendars and emailing a daily driving plan. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we access
- Google Calendar (read-only). We read the events on the calendars you choose so we can see each day's schedule, times, and locations and build your driving plan. We do not create, edit, or delete calendar events.
- We do not access your email. Plan emails are sent from Fairied's own mailbox, and replies are handled there — so we never read or send from your Gmail. Google access is limited to reading the calendars above.
- Optional integrations. If you connect them, we read your Microsoft Outlook calendar (read-only) and your TeamSnap team schedule, for the same purpose.
- Household details you provide. Home address, time zone, family members, and the email addresses that should receive the plan.
How we use it
We use this information for one purpose: to generate your family's driving plan and deliver it by email. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Google user data — Limited Use
Fairied's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide and improve Fairied, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We do not allow humans to read your Google data except with your consent for support, to comply with the law, or for security purposes.
How we protect your data
We apply the following measures to safeguard your data, including sensitive data such as the Google Calendar information you authorize:
- Encryption in transit. All connections to Fairied — the website, the Google/Microsoft/TeamSnap sign-in flows, and every API call — use HTTPS/TLS, so your data is encrypted while it travels over the network.
- Protected storage at rest. Your settings and the OAuth access/refresh tokens for the accounts you connect are stored on a private, access-controlled disk on our hosting provider, in per-account directories with restricted file permissions (readable only by the Fairied service account). Tokens are never exposed to your browser, shown in the app, or written to our logs.
- Data isolation. Each household's data and credentials are stored separately, so one account cannot access another's calendar data, tokens, or settings.
- Credential security. Account passwords are stored only as salted, one-way hashes (PBKDF2‑SHA256) — never in plaintext — and login attempts are rate-limited. Application secrets and API keys are held in the server environment, never committed to source code.
- Least-privilege access. We request read-only calendar access and the minimum scopes needed, and we never request access to your email. Automated systems process your data; no human accesses your Google user data except with your consent for support, to comply with the law, or to protect against security threats.
- Data minimization. We read only the calendars you choose and keep only what is needed to build and deliver your driving plan.
Storage and retention
Your settings and the authorization tokens for the accounts you connect are stored securely as described above, isolated per account. We retain them only for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect an integration or delete your account at any time, which removes the associated data (including your stored tokens) and revokes our access.
